Donate Frequent Flyer Miles (July 4, 2007)

Donate your frequent flyer miles to soldiers who are home on leave from Iraq. That is the simple premise that has made Operation Hero Mile a success.

The site was born after a Maryland congressman learned that the U.S. government flies soldiers on leave from Iraq to select airports in the U.S. It's up to the troops to get home from there.

This site collects frequent flyer miles and then donates them to the soldiers. Usually, the miles are not transferable but a growing number of airlines are making this exception. In fact, Delta even donated 10 million miles to the troops.

The site is simple to use and includes direct links to forms (online or print) that allow anyone to donate their miles.
